When signing up do you only get to pick one platform to use for your account? I currently have a PC, Mac and a Big screen and if I need three subscriptions to play on all three it would be pretty inconvenient.
I didn't think so, I thought it just decompressed to whatever size monitor or screen you were playing on. Like they said in the GDC conference; you can access your account and play games right away from anywhere, using the cloud console with a tv, or the plugin with your intertron connection.
Its like XBox Live or PSN, where you can log into your account from any Xbox 360 or PS3. Unlike those systems though, everything is kept server side, so you can play your games anywhere in the world on any supported system with the 1 account.
I think i was misunderstood. What I meant was if you sign up for service with the Mac, will they still send you a mini-console for the TV? Or are you restricted to only playing on Mac.
I don't think they would send you a mini console automatically, you'd need to buy one. For example, you could subscribe to this service and just play it on a Mac if you wanted to. However, if at a later date you want to play right on your TV you can buy a mini-console and use the same account
You wont be restricted to a single platform, but if you want to play your games on tv, without hooking up your PC or Mac to it, you'll need to buy the box seperately. Think of it as a Mini PC that can only access the OnLive service.
from what I understand you can play on any system that will allow the 2mb file download and install. Every thing is server side so in theory one account can run it on multiple windows machines, a mac, or on your tv. On your tv you would just need to buy the *optional* microconsole.
