With thanks to Shamus Young, from Twenty Sided, this is Steve Perlman talking at Columbia University.

Interesting points regarding latency, round-trip times, how the hardware infrastructure works, how the client hardware works, costs, actual demonstrations of the hardware and software (including real-time viewing of in-progress games by 'thousands, a hundred thousand spectators' with audio coming from those spectators and being merged together to make a stadium effect).

These sequences of videos have been the turning point for me, from looking at this system with scepticism, to looking at it as something that might work for me...

Only issue - I'm in the UK. So somewhat outside the 1,000 mile radius of these datacentres... Let's hope they open up here in Europe soon.

Welcome to the forums LazerFX and thanks for the videos I'm watching these now!

I'm in the UK too, but I expect they will stick some Onlive cloud servers in London so that the whole of the UK can access it without too much lag.
